Some fresh air

This morning me and Scott went for a short Hike together, while all the kids were in school. It was so nice to get some fresh air. I love to go hiking, but it has been awhile, especially with no kids. The views were incredible, and just being up there in the quite scenery just felt great. I hope to go many more times in the coming months and venture some more trails.

This past weekend we made it up to the Zoo. It was a mad house. I don't normally go places like that on the weekend for that reason, but we got free tickets, and that makes it all worth it (I guess). The kids had fun. and of course the bird show was the best part. I love the bird show it is so cool and it is fun to see the kids faces light up and see their reactions when a bird flies over their head and nearly hits them. So fun! Anyway, as most zoos go there of course was construction and " I am sorry this animal is not on exhibit today." so frustrating, I think all zoo's have something you go to see and it is not out that day or they have sent it to another zoo because of construction. Well as long as the kids have fun. You don't need to here me whine any more.

Oh I almost forgot I had to put this picture in. This is how I found Halli the other night when I went to go see if they had fallen asleep yet. Obviously she had gotten out of bed, but she is asleep! I guess these nights are getting to bright for her!

I know why does she have a sleeping bag? They got these from my parents and ever since they don't sleep in the covers they like the sleeping bag un-zipped and on top of them. I have tried to stop this strange habit but I pick my battles daily and this one I choose to loose.

Where is spring?

Can You believe it is May? This is what we found on our car when we got up. Actually there was more this is after I took the kids to school. In May I am sending the kids to school in winter coats, this is crazy!
~ Spring if your listening please make your self present here in Utah!~
Well this weekend we attempted to go visit the farm animals at Thanksgiving point and put are year pass to some good use. I knew the weather wasn't the best but it felt OK to go with out jackets. Boy was I wrong. I totally forgot that the wind is so out of control out there at the point of the mountain, so we hurried through. Also of course there was some big event going on so it was packed. Sorry kids I am not waiting an hour to ride the ponies! They were sad but I was not going to stand in line and freeze I knew they would complain the whole time to, but they got over it and now when we go next time they can ride twice since we saved are tickets.Hey at least we got out of the house! Right?

We also got the chance to baby sit the NEW "Baby Cousin" Preston. The kids were so excited. They wanted to hold him and feed him and get out all the toys so he could play. now remember he is only a month old so all he really does it eat and sleep. so as soon as he was asleep they lost all interest. But it was fun to have the little guy around. Thanks for trusting me Amy with the little guy.

Before

After

So the faux Hawk is gone! I have been asking Mik for months if we could shave it off but he hasn't wanted to. I think it looks really cute, but it was time for a change. All his friends at school call him BALDIE so he is ready to grow it back, that's fine with me as long as we keep it short. He looks cute any way his hair is to me.

We have finished another semester of school. Yeah!

Now the kids only have a few weeks left. what are we going to do all summer? Hmmm. I better think fast it is coming soon.

Spring Break

So Mik has Spring Break this week and the girls are still in Preschool, so it is just me and him. We were supposed to be in California but I wasn't able to get the time off of work. So my family is there with out us. I was so sad that we couldn't go, but we are trying to go before School starts again.

Anyway The weather was great on Monday so we had a picnic and went to the park. It was so busy. But since weather was finally so nice we had to take full advantage and get out.Which was such a good idea because today it snowed. 78 one day and the next day it drops over 25 degrees. What is up? I swear were gonna drown this summer.

Well since the weather was crap today and you couldn't even open the door with out it hitting you in the face because of the wind, we opt to stay in and make some pizza for lunch is was so much fun. Mik loved it he thought that it was so cool that I know how to toss pizza dough, so I gave him a few tips I learned from back in the day, when I for a short time worked for an undisclosed Italian restaurant. but it is fun to know how to really do it, I must say I am a little rusty. I also taught Mik how to play slap jack and War with playing cards. He thought that slap jack was great. He also informed me that there is a card called the "fool" turns out that he thought the Joker card was called that. I think it is a pretty good name though!
We also took a short trip today to the Distribution center. Mik loved it ( i know weird) He is so fascinated with the BOM right now so I went to go get him his own. Of course he wanted a nice one but I just got him this one. And then I got the girls just the BOM Missionary copy. I hope he is fascinated with it forever and have the same excitement that he has now, forever!

I hope to post more on the week hopefully the weather will get better so we can get out of the house!

Another Late night!

So here I am again working in the middle of the night. So I thought that I would write a little something before I get busy with... Well work.

First off I am so excited that Scott has passed the entrance exam for nursing school he did awesome. I think I was more nervous then he was. But he is never nervous. And I always am, it was stressing him out. I think I am just wanting this to be over with. Changing careers in the middle of raising a family, not fun!

I'm ready to have a house again, to know where were headed and to know where we are going to be for the next few years. Don't get me wrong I love adventures, and I am always willing to move somewhere new. I am already trying to talk Scott into moving back East again, I don't think he would even move as far as eastern Utah this time. Well I have a few years to work on him while he is still in school. But for someone who loves houses as much as I do the east coast has the most beautiful houses, of course the ones that I would want we would never be able to afford, but a girl can dream, Right?

Anyways we had another sick one this weekend and it always seems to be the same one. Kinzie, she was burning up all weekend. Thank goodness for Conference she just laid in bed with me and fell asleep while I watched after working all night. It was a mysterious one though no cough, runny nose, nothing just a high fever, sleepy, no appetite and grumpy. I kept her home from preschool today but I think she actually could have gone she begged me to go to the park all day but I made her stay inside, plus ( this makes me sad to even say) it snowed today, and it was the yucky stuff, it didn't know if it wanted to rain or snow so it was a cross between snow and ice and rain. Don't they know up there it is suppose to be spring?

Oh yes and Happy Birthday Dad! I wont tell how old he is but he doesn't look it. He looks much younger! I hope I follow in his foot steps well my mom looks young too, Awesome, good news for me!

"Wow" they have grown!

So today was a sad moment. I know the girls have come a long way since they were 5 pounds but when I saw Halli holding her "Baby cousin"(as they call him) this was the first time they had ever held a baby they have always been the babies. I know they are 4 now but they have not really been around babies. They find him very fascinating they said," we want one of those", not to worry we aren't getting one of "those" anytime soon. Anyways It was so sad to think how long it has been since I had the girls in my arms and just stared at them in ah. I remember all the excitement of having a new baby or new babies in my case. of course when the girls were 9 pounds they were probably 3 months old or more but It is so weird to look at Amy's baby then look at mine, hers 1 week and then mine 4 years old.

Well I don't know what I was getting to but it is a big wake up call, "they grow up to fast". I can't believe I am saying those very words I hated when I was young I guess I am just getting old. Here is them last night doing there Dads hair with their new Picks we got to try out on their curly hair, so they tried it on Dad first. I guess they have come along way, they have hair now which was obsolete when they were born until they were about 2- 2 1/2, and it is still a work in progress.

Easter Bliss

This is about the best shot I could get of them all together on Easter. I know it is not a good one but considering the moods of all 3 children it will have to do.
I know it is a little late but I have not been much of a blogger lately. It must be due to the lack of sleep I have been getting.

Well the kids had a great Easter. They were so excited that the Easter Bunny came. we also dyed Easter eggs the day before and made cookies and then had an Easter egg hunt on Sunday at my moms house all the eggs were full of money Mik couldn't have been happier, since he is not much of a candy person. In fact he had an Easter egg hunt at school, and when I picked him up from school he was made because all they had in them was candy so he gave them all away. I know strange that a 6 year old boy doesn't like candy, truth is his mom and dad aren't much of candy people either. Now Kinzie and Halli that is all they would eat if they had a choice. I can't keep them out of it. Good thing the Easter bunny only brought them one thing that was candy and a pack of gum which they also love and Mik won't touch.
Well here it is suppose to be spring and we woke up to snow. I can't believe that it is still snowing what were we thinking when we moved back to Utah. We weren't in North Carolina Long but I still dream of the weather there.
Me and Scott are still both busy running in the opposite directions well mostly him going the other direction since I am working from home. Scott has been working a lot and going to school the only day he is not gone is Sunday, so he is off playing "Old Maid" and "Go Fish" with the kids right now. They love their Daddy!

And now there is "10"

March 21st a little after 9:00pm my sister Amy gave birth to Grandchild number "10". He put it off as long as he could till the Doctor decided to take him by C-section. The Grand weigh-in a whooping 9pounds 4 ounces. Who would have guessed? He is the cutest baby( next to my own of course) They named the little chunk Preston. Seems me and Amy have more in common then having C- sections, her little Preston has a big head 38cm just like his cousin Mik. Who wouldn't want to take after Mik's looks though he is a heart breaker. Big head big brains. Congrats Amy!

NO More Pockets!

This photo doesn't even give it justice!
On Wednesday morning Scott came home from work to get the kids ready and let me sleep in ( since I am worn out from getting home at 4am). So sweet. well he said it was a good morning, which is far a few between in the West house since the girls wake up at 5am and are ready for a nap when it is time to go to school at 8am. Anyways they went out to the car running like penguin's with their hands in their pockets, Kinzie got to the curb and whent face first on to the road with no hands to help take the fall. It was so sad I could hear her screaming all the way inside. She also got a bloody nose along with some nice bloody road rash all over her face. She still went to preschool, but they all probably think we beat are kids. Her face was all swollen still and she still had the blotchy face from crying. Needless to say Scott was home from work longer then he had planned. Darn it he probably won't due that again.
Note to you all don't let you kids run with their hands in their pockets!

I'm Still Here(Kinda)

Happy Birthday Girls!

I know it has been awhile, and there is so much to say, But I don't even know where to start.
We have been so busy but all in different directions. Scott working then after work school then he comes home I would leave to work then my sis would come and he would go back to school then come home clean up and go to bed I got home around 1 in the morning unless it was snowing then who knows when I got home.well now last week all that over except I leave to work at 9pm and get home at 4am. I am so tired. but I will be working from home now but still in the middle of the night until I can change to days while the kids are in school. Amongst all the crazy stuff we had valentines day the girls birthday days out of school and we planned a baby shower. I swear I haven't slept for about 4 weeks when I started training for my job. I lost my voice almost 2 weeks ago and I can not seem to find it still if you find it please send it back my kids seemed to not be able to hear me, it is so needed it this point.

Well my beautiful baby girls are 4 now I can not believe they are so old I miss my babies. when they were little I thought it was hard and couldn't wait till they could do things on their own. Oh my gosh what I would give to take those words back. They are so sassy!wow! who knew girls are 18 when they are only 4. But I love them so much, and to think that they were not even likely to make it into this world they truly are a miracle from our Heavenly Father. It seems like they were just born. I can remember it so clear it was such an exciting day but also such an emotional day full of ups and downs. no one could believe that they were born with no complications and needing almost no help to survive a few minutes of oxygen for little Halli and in the incubator for 7 hours. they came home with me on day 5. Halli did give us a scare when she was 6 months old when the Doctor sent us to primary children's for some concerns we found out she was born with COLP which is a palsy in the lower lip she has no branch of nerves in her lower left lip, but it is looking good for now she also had some palsy in her vocal cords but was able to over come that. well anyways there Birthday was on a Sunday so we just had the normal dinner and cake at my moms but on Monday it was pres. day so we took them putt putt golfing they had a blast. The girls got a v-smile for their B-day along with barbies and few more thing but I think their favorite would be the princess sleeping bags from Mema & Papa. Thanks Mom & Dad, they want to sleep on the floor every night now but that's our battle now.
I love to look through pictures and remember when... they make are life so memorable and their is never a dull moment in the West house, when they are home.

Well like I said Valentines also came around and the kids think it is so fun the girls got necklaces and mik got a baseball card binder thing, I put hugs and kisses all over their beds with a balloon so when they got home from school they could open them. I'm not that big on valentines day but I try to make all holidays even the little ones traditional some how so they can do that with their kids. now on to St.Patricks day. Oh and I got my favorite... Tulips. what a good husband.

My sister is almost due they have decided to name Baby Boy Field, Preston Field I think it sounds great now if he could just get here. The parents to be are so excited, I remember when we were waiting for Mik's grand entrance, it is such an exciting time when you have your first baby, well with all but there are so many unknowns with your first. I stole the picture off her blogg, sorry Amy.

Mik also shot a gun for the first time. I was not to sure about this but Scott insisted. Mik was so excited he couldn't' sleep the night before and that is all he talked about before he went, and the the few days after. And if you know Mik he never stops talking he just goes on and on and on, even when you ask him to stop he Say's " OK I'll stop mom," Hey mom that was so..... and he just stars all over again in the same breath. It is so funny but man can he talk. Oh and he did get hit in the face with it kicked backed but he thought it was funny but said it hurt to.

Yea Gunner is back (that would be our dog). Gunner has finally made the trip from north Carolina. The kids are so excited( me ehhh). He got sick and Scott was so sad he is at the vet right now he has a heart worm & has lost about 40 lbs. or more. The kids just love him though and they talked about him in their prayers every night... please bless gunner at my dads Friends house.... it was so cute and not one prayer was ended without mentioning Gunner.

Well there is probley more that has gone on but I think this is long enough. Hopefully I won't get that behind again. Whew!

As of January 27th.
Wow!

I feel so old. Scott and I have been married for 7 years, I wish I could share some pictures but I don't want to go out to the garage in the cold and find them & scan them in, maybe another day. Scott & I have known each other since I was 17 I thought he was 40 or close to. I also thought he was hairy and needed a good shower, but he did act like a big brother to me. He was one of my bosses. I could not believe it when he asked me out. I wanted to say NO, but if you know me I can never say No to people, so the snobby little teenager I was I told everyone it was more of a pity date. I had just turned of legal age, 18 I guess he had been waiting since he is almost 5 years older. Anyway I told my mom hoping she would object but, she just went along. Later that night he came to the door, and he had taken that long needed shower I guess because he looked totally different, and was even cleaned shaven.

That night was the first night of are life together. Yes we kissed on the first date. I know I know, after all those young Women lessons, and I didn't even listen. Oh well that was 9 years ago, just don't tell my kids.

The past years have not been easy, I can't tell you we have one of those marriages that I wouldn't change it for the world but.... the truth is I would change a lot. I think me and Scott have gone through more struggles then most new families and are life has been hard and we have had many trials together, and sometimes I can't stand him, but the truth is he always sticks around and puts up with me and my OCD cleaning, & organizing habits, even though the other day we were having a heart to heart and told me it's driving him crazy he just up and checked off his list. I know some day are life will slow down and will be able to enjoy each other more and reflect and laugh about some of are struggles and most important share them with are children so they can avoid them.

Scott is the best DAD I know. He loves to play with Mik & his girls, even though his plate is really full right now, he always makes time for them, and they love him.

I feel we have come along way since we met when I was in High School. And the only thing that matters right now is that we are still together and we still can laugh together!

BYU vs. U of U

Mik & Scott took the TRAX Train to the U of U to watch the big basketball game yesterday. Mik has become a huge BYU fan that's all he talks about that and Baseball. Well they had a blast at the game and BYU won so they came home happy.

As for me and the girls we had a great time at the Trampoline place then went to lunch and came home to paint toes & fingers, it was fun to have a little girl time together, it was also nice to have played on the trampolines for almost 2 hours and wear the girls out a little. For all those in the area I totally recommend going to JUMP ON IT, in Lindon. 3 and under are free so we paid nothing what a great thing I wish I would have known sooner, since we only have a few weeks left, we will be back soon.

Give me a call if your going, will tag along.

Trampolines!

1 year and counting

I cant believe it, it seems like it was just yesterday Scott was put in the Hospital, & our lives changed forever. it was a year ago that we gained a family away from home and people who have inspired us forever, people who will stay in our hearts forever. Thank you Greenville 1st ward you are our heroes, & we miss all your smiling faces. And to all of are friends who were there to listen to all my crying whining and frustrations.

Scott is doing well, but still has some issues, we are hoping that he starts the nursing program this June, and maybe are life will start to get normal after that, but whats normal right?

This year we are hoping for a E.R. free year since last year we had a grand total of 8 visits, which is a lot for us, that's more than we have been in all years put together.
The girls are going to be 4 in a few weeks I can't believe my babies are so old, it makes me so sad not to have a baby around. Don't get any ideas, if ever again it won't be for awhile. I will just have to borrow Amy's little boy when he arrives in March. I can't even remember the last time I held a baby. I can't tell you how excited I am for you Amy, I think you will be a great mom!

I swear everyone in our ward is having a baby or just had one. Just on Sunday 2 girls announce they are prego, I thought that was weired to make an announcement, but whatever.

It is so cold here about 12 degrees everyday I sure miss the warmth of the South. The Girls saw a seagull the other day and asked how it followed us from the beach in North Carolina, I guess they don't see them here, even though it is the State bird here in Utah. But they continue to think that the birds just missed them and came to Utah. If that is the case I wish some of the beautiful cardinals and song birds would follow to, along with the warm weather of course.Anyways since it has been so cold we have been spending most of are days inside, which gets very old cleaning up after the many changing of clothes and princess shoes and the toy trails are never ending ahhhh. So today me and the girls are going to a place called JUMP ON IT it's a place with trampolines everywhere even the walls. The girls are so excited since our trampoline is in pieces in the storage shed. As for Mik and Scott they are going to The BYU vs. U of U Basketball game in Salt lake. Mik Just loves BYU & is bouncing off the walls waiting to go.

Ringing in the new Year!

Our New year has already started out with a punch. Kinzie has been so sick We took her in to the Doc's on New years eve. She was in the first stage of Pneumonia, they put her on some oxygen and Breathing treatments. They said if her oxygen level would have been two points lower they would have admitted her. Good thing they didn't it would have felt like alittle repeat of last year. She is doing great now. But of course Mik & Halli are sick now. Took them to the Doc's today, Our visits come in multiples we can never just go once, I'm sure will be back soon. Halli Just has a virus Mik has an ear infection along with Kinzie, all on the trusty Ammoxicillin at least it taste good and I don't have to use some sort of wrestling move to get it in their mouth.

Check out Kinzie's cool Dinosaur Mask, everyone thinks it's great except her.

Kids screaming I'll post more another day.

My sick girl's in mommy's bed.
