November

Just a quick note for November since now December is almost over.......

One of my good friends from High school had a birthday so we all went down to Salt Lake for dinner and a comedy show. It was a lot of fun to see some of the girls that I haven't seen in a long time and catch up. Happy Birthday Amber thanks for the Memories!

Tis the season for school programs and Mik had his this month. He was not as excited as the girls about it... the girls still are seeing the songs they learned just from watching it.

Here is a rare picture Scott home in the morning... This is all my monkeys at the bottom of the stairs for a little cuddle time!

On Thanksgiving we were invited to the jazz game with my sister and her husband Matt they were given some box seat tickets and since it was a late game we decided to drive up to Salt lake and go it was a lot of fun to Hang out with them, Thanks Amy and Matt, And thanks mom for watching the rugrats!

It's great to be 8!

Mik's 8
I know my little boy is so old, I still can't believe it!
His birthday was on a Wednesday so he had school and so did Scott. We wanted to take him to lunch for his Birthday "Dinner" since Scott would be at school but Mik wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse( Just like his dad, a steak lover), which doesn't open until 4pm, so we went at 4. I had my mom come watch the girls because they were sick and we went early so Scott Could go. Mik just loves this place what little boy wouldn't its all rustic, and you get to eat peanuts and throw them on the floor. I just can't bring myself to do that so I keep them until I have a bucket.Since Mik was a birthday boy they sang to him as he sat on the saddle, at this point this is when he started not to feel good didn't eat his ribs, which he loves and barley touched his ice cream i knew he needed to go home.

Later that night he got worse and was coughing so hard he was throwing up and having a hard time breathing and he was just a crying, Scott immediately took him to the ER all was fine after a breathing treatment and some medicine like I stated in the last post.

Oh I forgot the best part of all, during the last month we kept asking Mik what he wanted for his Birthday, he didn't really know but hen his friend got a cool Nerf gun for his birthday, some Nerf machine gun or something. So one day we were at Sam's club and they had it so we looked at it and then later we were browsing through the books and there lies a BYU Football book, really cool Mik stayed and looked at it for about 20 minutes or so and decided he would rather have that then the Nerf gun( Only Mik,right)Well so that is what he got for his birthday and still loves the book like crazy and has to show it to everyone.
Birthday Party!
That week on Friday Mik had a Football Birthday party with all his friends. That's the way to go for a party. man with all of our kids birthdays being in seasons of cold weather we usually can't get away with such simple plans but I figured they cold dress warm if it snowed. But no such thing it was a beautiful day. So we had a punt, pass & kick contest and they played a game of football it was so much fun and then we followed up with pizza and Hot chocolate and doughnuts. It was a lot of fun!

Baptism

On Saturday November 7th Mik was able to be baptized by his dad,it was such a special day for us. It was very small just family and our good friends the Manning's who we consider family Scott and Morgan have been best friends since they were almost in diapers and a few members of the bishopric. My sister and her daughter Abby( she is also 8) flew in from Arizona, and hung out for the weekend. Thank you Jenn I know it meant a lot to Mik as well as me. We are so proud of our little boy and we love him so much.

Football

Also for Mik's birthday he got tickets to the BYU Football game against Air force. This is something Scott likes to do every year with Mik, and they both really enjoy doing it together. But then again it is football and it is BYU so you all knew that.

October

Well we stayed busy in October... Being sick, Mik's 8th birthday, Halloween party's and more.

Since I haven't been that good at updating I will try and make this easy!
Football

Well Mik has finished his football season. It was a lot of fun but also a lot more time consuming then you would think for a second grader but he enjoys it so much and has such an amazing talent for football and really any sport he just has a love for sports. Mik's coaches set up a game with a team from another league at the end of the season for some fun.... we had gone the whole season without having to play in the rain or mud but what else would happen it poured the boys loved every minute of the game getting all muddy and being aloud to jump in mud puddles. It was not fun to clean up in fact his shirt he had on underneath was so bad it got thrown away! What a great way to end the season!
What a mess!

Those socks were white!

NEXT....

The piggy flu....

yes the swine flu, H1N1 what ever you wish to call it hit our home along with strep & bronchitis all in one week, and that week just happened to be the week of Mik's Birthday poor kid after a fun dinner at his favorite steak house with mom and dad, he woke up coughing so bad he was throwing up so we took him to the ER, they gave him a breathing treatment and some liquid lortab and he came home feeling pretty good, and was ready for school the next morning. Doctor said he was ok to go since it is not contagious, this kid loves school!
As for the swine flu it wasn't so bad just fevers in our house with the girls no vomit which always makes it nice. Kinzie tested positive for it along with strep and Halli got sick a few days later and the Doctor said she more than likely had it to but never tested her. When the ER called to tell us Kinzie had tested positive she said don't tell anyone they will freak out it really isn't a big deal, I had to laugh. Although we didn't have a bad case a lot of our friends and neighbors have had it pretty bad, Mik's buddy Baylor has missed over a week of school and had a lot more symptoms then the girls his poor family hasn't left the house for awhile and they all got it. Yuck!! Me and Scott have been lucky ( knock on wood) We have not been sick at all!
So yes my little Mik is 8 Years old I can't believe 8 years has passed me by, it is so sad! I will post all about him turning 8, his party and his baptism that is this Saturday later.

Halloween

This Halloween we had a football player and 2 little cheerleaders to cheer him on. The girls looked so cute I let them wear their costumes everywhere, they even wore it the Sunday after to my moms house... so cute I wish they could wear it everyday. As for Mik he is not really in to Halloween and would be a football player every year. I guess that makes it easy for me!
Carving pumpkins On Halloween!
It was the only time Scott was home so the kids wanted to Waite so he would be there! It made things a bit rushed since Scott didn't get home till 2 in the afternoon from school.
But we got R' done, as Scott would say!

Here is the finished product, it was so weird they all drew their own faces on the pumpkin with no help! Sad I am not needed anymore!

Here is our ginormous pumpkin we grew this year!

Waiting around to go Trick- Or- Treating
Still waiting, can we go yet mom?

Exhausted and enjoying the loot!
YUMMMMY!
Mik's Reflections Project
Of course it has to do with Football, what else would this kid come up with. Well this reflections project is actually a competition in the school and his teacher made it mandatory that they all participate. You have to pick a category, Art, Photography, Fine art, or music. You have to present one of those topics, Mik chose photography. Then you have to pick something to go along with the theme... This years theme is, Beauty is.... and then you decide. This is what Mik chose... Beauty is football!! I know right so then he has to write why..
this is what he wrote...
Beauty is football. Football is one of Americas favorite pass times.
A hard hit a long pass Beautiful!
Well lets hope he wins we all know how competitive he is!
Oh yeah, he had to take the picture so I sent him in the back yard for a while with our little point and shoot and this is the one he decided on using ( no photoshop). Pretty good don't you think?
And he had to name the project he said Old Glory I wasn't going to let him because I didn't know if someone would be offended since that is what we call the American Flag but Scott thought I was over reacting So the name stuck!
OLD GLORY

A littlte bit of this and a little bit of that!

Here we go again, what happened I use to be so good at keeping this blog up to date, I have got to get better, that can be added to the goal list, of course there are things on that list that have been on there since I had kids but I guess it wouldn't be a list anymore if they were all checked off.
Well as you can see I am really old all my kids are off to school, I just can't believe my girls have come this far are they not babies any more? That make me so sad!

Why can't they be like this still?

They love Kindergarten! Their teachers name is Mrs. Lemon, and she is so cute, and really loves her job. i was nervous on how they would do but the girls did great but Mrs lemon has great taste in shoes and the girls love shoes so they connected right away. When we went for testing before school started the first thing the girls said was, " Mom look at her shoes", so funny they were bright yellow and really cute and the girls always come home and ask if we can go get them shoes like Mrs.Lemons, I'll ask them what they did that day and they tell me but go on to tell me everything she wore that day, Oh and she has a bracelet that goes clink, clink. They crack me up

Off they go!
Mik Has started the second grade, so crazy. And can you believe he will be 8 In October ahhhh, where has time gone? This kid is so terribly amazing he never ceases to amaze me. He is so smart and so talented, and so darn cute, I wish he could stay like this, well he has always been like this but I just love the kid!

And Mik is back with his buddy, in the same class! They are the 2 Happiest boy's ever!

Mik has also started tackle football, I know some of you may think I am crazy he is small but he has a fire under his but like no other kid that it drives him and he can take anyone down, it is his drive to win, he is so competitive and refuses to lose..... yes this is from me, Scott is to mild manner he just laughs. Well he is the best kid on the team if I do say so myself and it is not just the mother in me talking, he plays the whole game offense & defence, never is sat out. He plays Quarterback, Tight end & wide receiver. As long as he is playing he is happy! He lives football and is so excited to see the BYU play this year! If your in the area you have got to see this kid play, call me I'll give you the details! he would love anyone to come!

That's Mik #14

He's come along way since the days of diapers and dads, Boots & hat!

Scott & I are up to the Norm running her and there with football and Gymnastics and maybe adding dance to the mix we are busy. I am excited for the fall it is my favorite season, I am getting excited just talking about it, and here come the Holidays, bring it on I am so ready for some fun time with family and friends!

Sand, Sand, & more Sand!

BEAR LAKE
So this weekend for Scott's Birthday we headed up to Bear Lake for a little beach and water fun.

The kids keep asking why we never go to the beach, they say we use to go all the time, I try to tell them it is because it was so close when we lived in North Carolina and now it is far away so Scott thought that it would be fun to take them to Bear lake for his Birthday so we did and it was so fun. Definitely colder then the ocean but it was great to get out and swim in a body of water. And the sand was always a good thing for the kids, maybe not so much for me since everything including unmentionables gets sand in and out and I get to clean it all.

We ended up camping at a near by campground that we have memberships to and it was nice all nights except for the last. It was such a nice day and then within a few minutes the weather went from Hot and sunny to windy and cold. I saw the lightning over the mountain and thought we would be fine and boom a big thunder ant a bolt of lightning. I swear it was all around us it was really scary the kids screamed. We put them in the car and me and Scott scurried around throwing things into the tent ans as we are doing this lighting is striking all over i seriously have never been scared of lightning but it was intense the kids were screaming for us to get in the car. We hoped in and got a movie going for the kiddos and brought in there sleeping bags and pillows since it was bedtime, they ended up falling right to sleep and as soon as the storm passed we locked up the car and me and Scott went and slept in the tent there was no way I was sleeping in the car. In the morning when I woke up I thought they would be up but they were still zonked out. So cute to find the girls all snuggled up to each other, just like when they were little.

"Say Cheese"

On Monday Scott's Birthday we headed back and spent a few hours in Logan so we could stop off at Gossner's "The Cheese Factory" I have been going there since I was a little kid every time my family came to Utah we had to stop there and get some" Squeaky cheese" really it does squeak, only if it is fresh. All you Utahans probably know but for the out of starters, its a fun place.

It was so nice to be gone for a little while but it is hard to go home and feel so overwhelmed with all the cleaning and laundry that must be done and if you know me it has to be done ASAP no waiting around I want it done and I want it done right then!
Hmmm where to next?

Run on Sentance

OK So like the title says this is going to be a long run on sentence, I am way good at those!

Well of course school is out for the summer, this is the girls graduation Kinzie is so shy she wanted no part of it, even after she practiced and had her part perfectly memorized and all the songs, this hard headness totally comes from the west side of the family! HAHA! Well I can't believe I have no more kids to take to Preschool they are all on to the big Elementary School now!

The Week School got out Scott took the kids camping with his Best Friend Morgan and his kids, they had a blast and while they were gone I went shopping and watched some movies and relaxed which is hard for me to do but I did some!
This summer I am working at a new aquatics center it has been a lot of fun to get out and meet new people and use this brain a little. Plus it is always good to get a free family membership to the hottest pool in town, Right?

Oh yes I am a Scout leader in the ward (Kill me now) and I got the opportunity to go to scout camp let me tell you 10 little webelos who don't listen to a word you say makes for a day full of fun! I thought I would never be called to scouts since I come from a family of girls, what the heck are they thinking! Well the same day as my scout camp my little nephew was baptized and I had to miss it, I did send Scott and the kids and because of a bad accident on the freeway they missed it to, so much for that! But they did get to see him and tell him we are proud of him! and we are! Soon it will be Mik's turn, I can't believe he will be 8 soon, gosh I am getting old!

My sister Jen was in town for a few hours literally hours so we had a BBQ at my parents house and had fun letting the kids all play together.

This past week Scot left again but not without Mik for the Father and son camp out, and of course any chance he gets he takes his guns and his baby his XDM, but he did share and that was really big of him to do that. Seriously it is his baby some nights I won't be able to find him and then I see a light on in the basement and I peek and there is Scott gun safe all unlocked checking on his little baby, XDM.What a proud Dad!
While the boys were out me and the girls went and got pedi's and went to the Hannah Montana Movie, which was actually really good! It is always good to have a day out with my baby girls!Sorry no pictures Scott took the camera that day!
